Boy did we enjoy the sun yesterday! The two little girls and I ran a whole bunch of errands and then went to Rood Bridge Park. What a fun place to shoot pictures! I am learning how to shoot in manual mode and came home from my first photography class with some homework….yikes, talk about pressure! I also took an online class from MckMamma last night on how to use Lightroom 3…..WOW!! Fell in LOVE 🙂
I am NOT an animal girl, but I must admit, this is about as good as it gets. This adorable little guy (2 inches across) was born in August and makes no sound, hardly poops, doesn’t stink and eats very little! Perfect pet for the non-loving-pet-mom. And we got a fabulous aquarium for him to live in at Goodwill for $15. Bonus!
Happy Early Birthday Mitch!
We were at Jo-Ann Fabric’s yesterday and we just couldn’t pass up the 70% discounted Wilton’s Gingerbread houses from Christmas! Sooooo, we bought them for $3 and some change!!! And then we went to Winco and got Valentine Candy to decorate. What a fun, cheap craft for all ages!
Just so you all know…I’m NOT a crafty girl. In fact, I really loathe crafts…but I have 3 out of my 4 kiddos that love crafting. Sooooo, we are going to craft more this year…at least that is my goal.
And the craft of the day is ….drum roll please!!….Melted Crayon Hearts. Yes, I know. So easy. But a gals gotta start somewhere, right? I’m going to find that inner crafter in me…I just know it!
The reason I chose the title “Real Life Raicharts” for this blog is because we’re pretty crazy at our house and that title just fits our family. I LOVE all the blogs that our there that show such peaceful, tranquil homes and I
sometimes often dream of that and SOMETIMES have that, but this blog is for the people out there that have crazies living in their house like I do 🙂
Last night Daddy and the boys decided to go hot tubbin’ and intermittently do snow angels at the same time. Fun stuff and I totally remember doing this at my Aunt’s house when we used to visit her in Sisters Oregon. Now, I’m happy to watch and giggle from the window and take a few shots before quickly closing the door and getting warm again.
I love that Tad has so much fun with the boys and I pray that they remember these memories of their daddy being crazy fondly….yes, he did do a few snow angels, but I promised not to post those pics 🙂
Come on, you know you want to try it!
Can’t help but post more pics of snow fun. We had friends come and play, which makes it even more fun.
“If all of the
rain snow drops were lemon drops and gum drops, oh what a day that would be! I’d tilt back my head with my mouth open wide, singing uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,uh, uh….if all of the rain snow drops were lemon drops and gum drops, oh what a day that would be!”
And for the last few days this is what my wood stove has looked like….yes, there is a wood stove behind all that gear! Keepin’ it real for ya 🙂
In an attempt to catch up over the last couple of weeks this blog is seemingly going backwards in time…because it it 🙂 I think this will be the last “backwards blog” and then from here on out I should be caught up-to-date. Whew, glad I started on the 16 of January and not July!
Back to swinging!
Our family went up to Boring, Oregon and had a great time at a New Year’s Day Swing Party! Lots of food, lots of friends and lots of laughs as we tried our “feet” at swinging.
We haven’t participated in Awana for a few years, but we decided that it was the right time to join again. I do love the way it is designed to instill God’s Word in the hearts of young ones. It just so happened that we joined at a very FUN time…Pine Derby Racing time! The boys are the ones who chose to participate and brought their kits home to daddy very excited about the possibilities.
I’m really not quite sure who had more fun…the boys or daddy? Jury is still out on that one. Several times I found myself reminding daddy that this was the boys’ project…ahem.
The sanding begins…
Max’s final product….the silver racer.
Mitch’s final product….the green mean fighting machine.
Ok, sorry, I named them myself because I can’t remember the types of cars (i.e. porche) they designed these after 🙂
